I have the Pro5.0 shifter, so I have never tried to powershift with the stock shifter. Yes with 4.10s I go into 4th at the track- no way around it.

Nope, part of racing and being as competitive as possible at it means having the funds to get the parts that make you run the numbers. If traction is an issue, tires are needed.

Take a look around ebay, just last week I saw 2 sets of drag radials on there. One pair for 75.00 and the other were 60.00. Still had 70% of their life left.

I know it sucks spending money, but sometimes it's inevitable.

The 18's look much better than the 17's but they really do suck for the track.

When I was N/A I went from 13.25 to 12.95 just switching to drag radials, and that was on the stock 3.55's. I gained another 2/10ths when I went to the 4:10's

My best time with my street tires on my current S/C setup is 12.79 @ 124.4
while my best time on E.T Streets is 11.441 @ 124.789

You just need to find another track to go to. I've heard for YEARS about how bad Speedworld is.
Yes, drag radials & traction devices will obviously help. But it is possible to get good traction on the stock tires if you're on just a halfway descent track... and I realize Speedworld sucks.

I've pulled a 1.86 & 2 1.88 60's on my stock Pirellis. It pulls 1.92's & 1.93's very consistently. My car traps just a tick under 108 mph and it does not break the tires loose bad at all going to 2nd gear.

I'd just find another track... that's a free mod :)

Ive gotten some pretty decent 60's on street radials at speedworld, and Im satisfied with how my slicks hook up there. Id suggest alittle more practice. Ive run lower et with less mph, your car is definatly good for 12's with slicks

your car traps around 108? that is pretty quick, is that all the mods that you have in your sig? I also noticed that after the installation of steeda rear LCAs, (tubular ones) the car no longer wheel hops, now it just spins. Like everyone said I just need more practice at launching the car on a difficult track. Thanks for all the comments. This forum is the best IMO.:nice:

yeah just keep practicing and you'll get those 60's down. I've already gotten over 115 passes in this car just at the track alone.
The mods in my sig are all I have. When it trapped 107.79, it was at Darlington during Mustang Week '06 and it was very hot. I'm going to go to Mason-Dixon on Nov 4, so I'm hoping to get that 12.90 @ 108 with the cool air!
