New Tranny Or Headers?

Hello everyone i bought my '89 with a '99 v6 transmission. I found this out the hard way. It had shorty headers. i bought long-tubes but the drivers side tubes hit's the clutch fork (pic attached). the clutch is now slipping so i ask.

What would you guys do? Switch back to shorty headers or replace the transmission to a correct one?

the car is a rebuilt 302 street car, no track/drag racing.

all advice is much appreciated
