    Hey kids,

Just got myself a 98 Cobra and would like to use the Eibach 2.0\1.8 spring kit. What other mods do I need or want in order to do this and maintain or improve the handling? How will it ride? Do I need to change shocks? Anything you can respond with will be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!!

I would suggest CC plates, shocks and struts for that much drop. Ride will be more firm than what it is now with much better handling.

Is that too much drop for some reason? Should I go with just the 1-1\2" drop like a lot of you guys seem to do?

Look...I'm a geezer with a new hot rod...the last one was a 1968 Shelby Cobra GT 350 when I was 17-18. I got rid of that car because of my youth and naivete. I finally got another one...but 30 yrs newer. I LOVE it!!

So tell me your opinions on dropping my 98...Pleeeeeeeeeze???!!

I have the Ford C springs ,(about 1-1/2" drop) on my 98' with Hotchkis cc plates, stock shocks and the ride quality is still pretty good.

Thanks Rich! Your 98 sounds nice!

Mine has 3:73 gears, Flowmasters welded in with H crossover, and as far as I know, everything else is box stock. What else can I do for some ez HP gains? What can I do to this air filter/intake setup?

Hehe, I wouldn't call myself a geezer but I'm not a punk either. A buddy and I dropped his '03 Cobra last week. He used the H&R Super Sports. There are worth about 1.5 inches of drop. So far he hasn't needed anything else. We'll be doing my '03 Cobra this Friday. I'm using the same springs. From what I've read nothing else (other that the alignment) is needed. I didn't want to dramatically change the ride "cushiness". Hopefully these will provide a decent ride. I’m dropping mine more for looks than performance. I just installed some 18” FR500’s and the car looks like a 4 X 4.

    Have you searched?

SVTP is a damn good technical resource. Should have plenty of info for ya.

Thanks Duner...the blue 03 is really sweet! Yea, I'm picking up a set of Eibach 1-1/2s tomorrow...considering shocks too but may keep the stock ones for a little better ride.

Thanks a million for the link also. I bookmarked it immediately.

Another geezer with a hotrod here. :D We used the Eibach kit on our 96, along with caster/camber plates and the stock shocks. The ride is significantly firmer, but not unpleasantly so. The thing handles like its on rails and feels rock solid at 120 mph. The only real problems are steep driveways and gnarly speedbumps. My wife drives it every nice day and loves it. Picture attached.

    Thanks all!!!

Put in the Eibach 1-1/2s yesterday, stock shocks, no plates....WOW...best money I've spent on it so far! Still rides pretty good (IMHO), and handles and feels MUCH better.

I'm a happy camper and just can't thank YOU ALL enough!!

Nice Duner. I'll bet it looks great!

I also installed a set of 1-1/4" wheel spacers on the back axles with my stock Cobra Rs which are only 8" wide...WHAT a DIFFERENCE!! It looks like a whole different car now. YES!

    Wheel wells full!
