latest number with off road x-pipe, catback, filter, tune is

405rwhp / 375 rwtq.


this motor is now out torquing 5.4 3v and 4v. from a few bolt ons and tune.


they are messing with the tune more.

the massive head flow these motors have is paying off. evolution is going to port some heads also.

stock is supposed to be 355cfm, maybe ported will reach 370 - 400cfm.

The new heads will not work on any 4.6 based block. Everything on the new motor is different.

sadly he is right. the ford guys originally likened this to the 351/400 modified motor of the 70's. similar architecture, but different. this is the MODIFIED modular. very little is the same.


if they did fit a 4.6 it would have 375ish hp stock.

It's so cool seeing a nearly stock GT pull a front wheel up on launch. It's time to start saving up for an upgrade.

So weird to see a Mustang do a dyno pull in 5th gear.

5th gear is 1 to 1. You probably know that though.

Two observations:

1. Although quite impressive, stock it dyno's @395rwhp, so if this is true then 405 aint much of a jump. Inside Line Dyno-Tests the 2011 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 not sure if they tested it in 4th or 5th for that run or how much it matters.

2. Ive been reading a lot on the stock rwhp on the GT500's and seen much of this:

"I have an 07 GT500 bought in Jan 07. Stock with exception of Borla Ex. system. Ran it on DynoJet here at the college nearby and showed 512 at the crank and 437 rwhp. I live in the AZ. desert ran in cool month of March elevation about 500 feet. Only had about 2k miles on the car when I ran it. ,,"

Of course, you can up boost HP more easily than NA, but this new 5.0 engine sounds like quite a runner...almost revolutionary.
