Nightmare with installation of my magnapacks exhaust catback

Well I ordered the magnapack cat back from completeexhaust.com (sorry I know you match price but they are only about 150 miles form me so I got the system in 1 day). Well I got the system in yesterday about 10am so I decided to have a shop put them in (I am not mentioning the name yet since I'm have a small problem with them honoring their mistakes and it may go into legal matters). So I ask them not to heat up or weld in anything, just unbolt the flowmaster setup and bolt in the magnapacks. Everthing was in the trunk including the instructions on how to install the system.
So I wait around for them to finish the job...well they start around noon, but after 2.5 hours I'm wondering whats up. Since I can't walk into the work area I'm really getting concerned. I look through the glass that peaks into the shop and I see 3 guys under the car. Well I decide to walk outside and around to the bay that my car is located in. I find they cut up my old flowmaster exhaust and that they heated and bent hangers and the over the axle pipe. I was pissed (and that doesn't say enough), even though I gave strict instructions not to. They told me that one of the hangers on the muffler was about and inch to short and it was pulling the exhaust tailpipe up so high it wasn't able to peak out the cutout in the rear bumper. They heated up car hangers and bent them down some to be able to get things to fit.
Well when I got home with my banging exhaust I contacted carsounds (magnaflow) and talked to one of the guys their and he then contacted the garage I took it to, and also John from completeexhaust.com. They then called me back and let me know to contact the people I bought it from.
Well I contact John this morning and we talked for about 15 minutes and explained everthing I seen them do (bent hangers, heated and bent over the axle pipe). Well to make a long and annoying story a bit shorter, we both came to the conclusion that the garage is at fault. So that would actually leave me having to pay for a new kit and having it installed and then go after the garage. Well carsounds is actually still going to honor the exhaust and so is complete exhaust. So monday I should have my new exhaust kit. Then I'm going to Delks to install it since I have to have the hangers heated and rebent into place.
Then I take all the receipts for this and hand it back to the garage and demand to be reimbursed. Though I have a feeling this garage I took my car to is going to end up in freakin court.
sorry about any grammar and spelling mistakes, just a bit annoyed at the moment. Though I can honestly say both carsound (magnaflow) and completeexhaust.com have some of the best customer service I ever experienced. I thought I could save a few dollars in the long run and end up paying worlds more in time alone.

i did my catback myself. Next time, do your own bolt ons. You learn a lot, and save the hundreds of bucks you can spend on other mods.

that sucks. U still need to cut the stock catback wit a sawzall to be able to remove it. Did u have flowmasters welded mufflers or a full catback ?

Can't you just drop the rear and pull the old exhaust off?

I'm not sure if I conveyed this, the flowmaster exhaust I put on myself and it was a complete catback bolt-on. I asked them to unbolt it as I wanted to keep the system for a friend. Well they removed it, but cut it out with a torch. So they ruined the flowmaster catback. When they installed the magnapack catback system, the driver side bolted up just fine, but they didn't align the passenger side properly and blamed it on the product. So they took it upon themselves to heat up hangers and over the axle pipe and bend them to make things fit. Even though I told them not to do it since I would just send them back if it didn't fit. That is another reason why I asked them not to cut out the flowmaster catback, just in case this didn't fit properly. So now I had to accept them heating and bending everything since I didn't have the original exhaust to put back on.
The only reason I paid to have it put on, was because lately in TN its been raining like crazy and I just didn't want to bother lying on the ground. So I figured I'd take it a shop and not worry so much about it. Well now I have to take it to a good shop to have them heat up the hanger posts (ones welded to the car itself) and bend them back into place. Then they have to remove the other magnapack catback (unbolt it) and I have to ship it back to complete exhaust which they will send it back to magnaflow.

Shouldnt have to if he had a flowmaster exhaust BOLTED in previously. They should have just unbolted the stock exhaust and bolted in the new one.. why were they messing with the hangers??? The Magnapack catback comes with new ones that are FULLY adjustable. I cant beleive there were 3 guys that do exhausts for a living that could screw up such a simple install. Good luck with that man. And sue thier asses for the ruined flowmaster catback that cant be resold again.. well for what you COULD have sold it for

Wow, sounds like that exhaust shop royally messed up a straightforward catback install. They must have some pretty smart cats working at the garage, eh? LOL
Anyways, hindsight is 20/20 - install the easier stuff yourself if at all possible. Have an "install day," invite a few buddies over, pizza & beer or whatever, ya know?

Best of luck to you. Sorry for the loss.

It's a shame that you'll probably end up paying $1000's in court for a cat back install.
