    and they say the 2.3 is crappiest motor made.

    Ive seen 2.3's more reliable than a 5.0

    i get that crap a lot myself. granted i only have a 2.3 na, but i tell them that im swappin in a 2.3t and they say "what a ****ty motor, my 5.0 will eat that up." i cant wait until a month from now when i see those bastards in my rearview! :rlaugh:

    and the funnie thing is it was some prick from import car yahoo chat.

    I would go to the other car chat room but they suck and think straight line is the only way to go.

    one of my friends is a 5.0 fan and think that the 5.0L is the only way to go.. and he told me that if I beat him when I'll have my turbo engine in, he will give me his car..

    lol, thats funny. Man, I have so many 5.0 kill stories til it aint even funny. I had my pipes cut off and i have the muffler tucked way under so u cant see it. I love it, they rev at me at the stop light, and I wait for them at the next.

    his car is a 1994 5L (v6 to a 5L) carbed engine, no any mod yet.

    People are just disalusioned(sp). My second car had the Ford 2.3(HSO) in it and I was quite hard on that car generally. It never failed me in 140,000(88 model) miles(car was totalled in 1996).
    I guess liking the 2.3 either n/a or Turboed is kinda like the way I feel about Mustang II's. If you like Mustangs, you have to appreciate everything about them.

    Better hurry with your turbo, as soon as his funds start to pour in, dollar for dollar he'll always beat you.

    I have both (well actually had a 5.0L, now a 5.8). The 2.3L is the most reliable motor I've ever encountered.

    But it'll take a lot of boost to catch up with a modded 5.0L, and a LOt more boost to catch up with a blown 5.0L.

    I have a 2.3 that runs sweet and the 2.3's are good engines in general. However to think that a 2.3 will outrun a 5.0 I say no way. I own both and the 4 banger won't hold up to the 5.0, not even the turbo version. Stop light to stop light, the 5.0 only needs 2 gears. The 2.3 turbo has lag and doesn't think about kicking in until around 2500 RPM. By the time it does that the 5.0 is gone.

    I like both motors my self :flag:


    I can see this turning into another Mustang hate on Mustang tread :rolleyes: I've beaten a few 5.0Ls my self with a 2.3T and got beat by a few 5.0Ls as well. These 2.3Ts are extremely awsome motors but like all motors, they got limitaions. Also, any car can be made to go fast but depending on your base model, the cost will added up real quick.

    I really hope this doesn't turn into a Mustang hate Mustang thread, I love both of mine.

    Turbo 2.3's can fly, seen it at the track and seen the dyno sheets. All I'm saying is that 5.0L's can fly as well.

    Well I too have the best of both worlds. 2.3T and 5.8L I have to say, they are a blast to drive both. 2.3 for those rice boys who think the thing's slow, and that 5.8 for those who rev at me at a stop light.

    5.0 is the only way to go for me. There is just something about them. :)

    Don't be hating on one of your fellow Ford engines. I have lots of respect for both engines, you should too.

    oh I do but so far the 289 seems to be the second most reliable ford motor I have seen in person...theres only one 5.0 that Ive seen thats reliable and its an 84 gt hatch thats 100% stock.

    It seems like they dont like to be ****ed with.

    Ok, I don't want to start and argument here, but you seem very ignorant towards 5.0s. There's many running around with lots and lots of miles on them. They are just as reliable as the others. There are good ones and bad ones. And obviously they respond well to mods or else thousands of people wouldn't be modding them.
