http://denver.craigslist.org/car/224821402.html alright, im actually considering buying this, i've been talking to him via email and he said it also needs a starter, and it goes through tires really fast because of the alignment. im definetly not giving him the asking price, but i figured it's already got an aero nose on it, so i'd throw a 302 in it and have a little fun....lol just kidding, i'd put it back to stock (my buddie has a pretty nice svo parts car). anyways, it's either this, or getting a motor together for my notch, so what would you do...
I would buy it if like you said you come to a fair price. Did he send you additinal pic's (interior). You better get more opinions though, I am just a sucker for an SVO
oh yeah, heard about the snow 'fluries'. My Boss lives in Evergreen, CO and said there was about 1 ft of snow... Sorry
There is no way that car is worth what he is askin. It would need too much $$ to put back to stock. For instance they do not make the headlight panel for them, it would have to be custom made. The bumper covers are outrageous for a repro. The original head lights are repro'd for one side but the side marker for the other side isn't repro'd. It doesn't have the wheels or tail lights. Are all the side spats there? At least it has the dbl wing, as long as it doesn't sag or broke too bad. Those wings aren't repro'd. I sold the last one for $475 and some of the studs were broke. And is there any pics of the interior? There are alot of SVO specific interior parts.
I say one project is enough. I almost bought a very clean California only SVO for about $4,000. It had a frame off restoration and was spotless (the owner had a body shop). I did some research and learned that the missing stearing wheel and shift knob are worth about $800-$1,000!!! (I didn't look up the cost of the original wheels... but I'm sure they are costly) I think it would be great fun to have an SVO... but one project car is enough for most of us.... and this one looks rough. I think it's just a money trap. Also, I think the suspension was specific to the SVO and some of the pieces aren't even made anymore... maybe that is why it's not aligned Matt
i dont have $3500 OTHERWISE I PROBABLY WOULD. (damn caps). all i have right now is around $1400 and after the next few paychecks (and taking care of some bills) i plan on building a mild 87-92 spec motor. either a 302 or a 306, forged pistons, stock crank, maybe a nice speed density friendly cam and some massaged E7's. i dont really have money to go crazy on it, so i think im just going to build it to handle a BD11 that might be down the road some time.
