On the GT side skirts can the letters be filled in and not crack?

Hi I have a 91 fox that is a bit of a frankenstein car. A little of everything
and it has no badges except on the side skirts is says MUSTANG GT.
I see that they make some stuff just for repairing the polyurethane or whatever it is. I was going to repaint the car this summer and I was thinking of doing away the GT lettering. I was thinking of drilling small holes in the letters to give the filler some "bite" and then grinding the edges of the letters
and filling them. Do you think this would hold up? Is there a right way of doing this? I had thought of using Cobra skirts but the price is out of my reach. And I don't know if they would match up with the GT skirts in the rear.

Also I was going to ad more mounting screws on the bottom to help stop flex. Any suggestions?
I have seen front bumpers that were busted fix and they held. same stuff?

It now has,,
Cobra R hood (aftermarket)
Cobra rear bumper
Cobra Grill
GT front bumper
Gt side skirts
Gt spoiler --Might go with a cobra spoiler this summer
I sort of like the "Badgeless" Look
