One of those days....

Decided to that I was going to try and see how the bottom end held up if I just put the oil pump itself in it, laid my oil pan gaskets, and got all my bolts started. Ran em up, then started tightening them down when I felt the ratchet give way. Damn I thought I just stripped some threads. Hell no, I pull the socket off and the damn bolt head just flopped on the ground. Well that just ruined my day. I believe I may just take this as a bad omen and build a budget 347 stroker with about 10.5-11:1 comp, and call it a day for the car.

Oil pan bolt? Pshaw. That's nuthin'. Easy-out that sucker and screw in another. At least it wasn't something really hard to get at or a nightmare to replace ... like stripping the threads of the harmonic balancer bolt, for example.
