one wire alternator

im putting a 200a one wire set up in a 88 vert with a 302 and was wondering if anyone knows if the thrid wire on the plug i think its usually a combo of grn and blk and triggers a charge idiot light on the dash. thought it might drive the ecc crazy or turn on some light on the dash with it connected.

If you're talking about the lt green/red wire, the dash light shouldn't even prove-out (illuminate) because the ground for it came from the regulator (in the alternator).

That wire does not go to the EEC.
