Building a new 2V for my car. doesnt anyone have any opinions on that intake to use on a blown application shooting for 500rwhp. Curious if the intake will loose way too much bottom end.

i have it, it will be going on this week, i have seen a few people gain very good hp with this intake and blower/turbos, im hoping it will be a good N/A intake and will be finding out very soon btw i made my own adapter plate to use a stock style plenuim, i will be running a ported C&L, and when i say ported i mean PORTED!

heres a pic of my setup, i will also be running edelbrock fuel rails:nice:

That intake is sexy. The runners are much much shorter and larger than the PI, or even NPI intake, so I'm certain you'll loose low end torque. It is probably best suited for a car with cams, gears and a ported head... *cough* 98cobra.

The PI seems to be the best choice for any 4.6 that you intend to keep at or below 6000. It may not keep up as well at 6000 rpm, but it gives a much nicer torque band. If you are reving to 7k, then it would definately be worth it.

Hey 98cobra, post up the results. Should be a huge gain on your setup.

im curiuos where this piece makes its power at. if its 6600 and kills everything at low rpm itsnot very useful for street apps

    the rpm range is 2900-7500

im hoping to make power to 6300+. right now i flat line from 5500-6000 and then slowly drop off...

im not realy worried about low end tq, the 4.30's help alot.......

Those gains were off a carb. On an N/A setup, air/fuel velocity is key to making power. PHR didn't get those gains until they had the right carb boosters.

If you have a power adder, a blower or turbo should make up for any loss in bottom end. The upper end gains will be crazy.

I'd wait for the BBK manifold before you buy an Edelbrock.

This is before they changed the carb boosters, which gained alot of hp and helped recover the bottom end torque loss.

im curious how the intake would perform on the lower end with a blower huffing 10lbs pushing high 470rwhp car. Do you think the car would be a turd until it made boost?

Yea but that price includes fuel rails. On another forum, BBK said they were building the tooling for it a few weeks ago.

I'd like to keep some low end, I don't want to have to rev to 7k rpm all the time to keep ahead of somewhat fast cars.
