painting manifold tonight....need to get finish off Edelbrock what sand paper??

what grit should i use???....i just wanna get the clear off the edelbrock so i can paint it....do i need to get the clear off for it to stick?? or should i just scuff it a little????

Hit it w/ some 320 or some 400 all over, that should be good.

I would go buy some paint remover at your local auto parts store. Should save some sanding time. Spray it on and watch the clear disolve. That's how I got the black off my strut tower brace. Sanded the rough spots with some 600 and I was done, ready for primer.

Let me know how this goes, I am getting ready to paint just about everything in my engine bay (including the intake). What color are you going to paint it and what kind of paint are you using?
