The rubber trim around my parking brake is falling apart due to use. I can find good rubber trim pieces in the j-yard from automatic V6 cars that really don't even get used (most people don't us a parking brake with an auto)... but the problem is installation. The rubber is held in by plastic that is thermo-molded in place. The plastic can easily be broken and removed, but is obviously not serviceable. Any solutions out there to attach a replacement rubber trim piece nicely? I want a factory type of fit and finish solution. Any aftermarket options? Yes, I could glue it in place, but I have no doubt it will come loose and I'd be better off if I never touched it.

Just trying to keep my 208k mile GT looking good and functioning well.
