This is front page of The Drudge Report... DON'T BLAME ME From: TheHill.com Well, sounds like bad news for the Republicans, except 5 years ago, Bush tried to do this: New Agency Proposed to Oversee Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae - New York Times (emphasis Ed Morrisey @ HotAir) Is she just that stubborn?
considering that it was the democrats that set up fannie and freddy, and that the democrats get plenty of money from them, i would say that not only is she that stubborn, she is also that stupid.
Yeah, I think she's right about that. As far as Bush wanting to create a new government agency goes. Would you guys actually have supported the creation of a new gov regulatory agency? I wouldn't have.
McCain foresaw the implosion of FannieMae and FreddieMac years ago and tried to stop it w/ 3 other senate republicans. From: GovTrack: Senate Record: FEDERAL HOUSING ENTERPRISE REGULATORY REFORM... (109-s20060525-16) I would mention who benefited from Fannie/Freddie (a key reason why it didn't pass the committee) but it wouldn't make Obama look very good.
Once again, I'm spinning my wheels discussing things with you. Obama's spin gets noticed... 'Always for Less Regulation'? John McCain's record on Wall Street oversight gets some misleading spin from Barack Obama - washingtonpost.com
Well mo matter, we have a pile of crap for an economy, and our leaders have let us all down in one way or another. Since we the citizens and our children are being called on to bail the wealthy out time after time with government take overs and bail outs, we should demand something in return, like maybe there should be a stipulation in these bail out agreements that would make it mandatory for these firms to invest in America. I mean if we don't have jobs, and money how is the economy going to prosper for everybody? For too long the average American has been having to do with less, and paying more for everything, and these investment firms have been investing over seas, and not having a sense of responsibility to put America first. That's the way I see it and here's something that can articulate better then me. Wall Street's investment banks deserve to die - Salt Lake Tribune I honestly don't see how we can continue to pay for 2 wars, send billions in aid overseas, and prop these firms up on our backs any longer, while we foot the bill for their extravagant and fraudulous , and some might say anti American, dealings. The Gov. keeps borrowing from the Fed. who prints the money basically out of thin air with no backing, and flooding the system with dollars causes the value of the dollar to further decrease! I mean WTF, this is insanity and until we demand REAL change and a halt to the , it won't get any better. I'm waiting for the day in the near future when the president gets on TV and announces the end of the US, unless we join in a North American Union, because things have gotten so bad. YouTube - Vicente Fox tells American Workers To "Get Over It" 09/12/08 And some countries and people are pushing for the one world currency-- China paper urges new currency order after financial tsunami | Reuters It seems like the cycle of "problem, reaction solution" being orchestrated here, with the problem being created to have the solution they want.
Not trying to be a smart ass, but Andrew Jackson saw the current situation happening way back. "I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation and then deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from banks and restored to the people to whom it properly belongs."-- Andrew Jackson
Simple, Borrow from Communist China which is how we have been able to fund those two wars. How can we pay China back? : I guess that would be one way.
Oh yes your right, the leftist elitists see Americans as stupid that's why we need them for everything, need the government to help them with everything. Because "We" are not capable of running our own lives so its up to them to do so.
I was kind of looking at things from a collective stance not an individual one. I see people struggle to pay for food, and get to work, survive pay check to pay check. While you yourself may not be having problems and " living in the BAMFing country" may be sufficient for you, lots are struggling to even exist in the BAMFing country in the world, because of the economic and job crisis they face. And those are the ones I can relate with.
I always find it amazing that illegal immigrants can sneak into this country with only the clothes on their backs and buy a house, 5 cars (granted most are on blocks), have tons of kids, and still send money back home to Mexico but people born in this country "struggle to pay for food, and get to work, survive pay check to pay check." And its only liberals that have this problem. Maybe if they stopped whining, got off their asses, and stopped trying to get a free hand out from the government they wouldn't have this problem anymore. (puts flame suite on)
It’s obvious our monetary system FAILED......print print print that money; defy the laws of economics Bernanke is smarter than god himself.
