I'm thinking of having the hood painted in this sort of style:

My car is Satin Silver and I'm wondering whether to have it done either black, Alloy Silver or even a ghost silver - either one shade lighter or darker. Anyone done this?

Hmmm, that pic looks vert familiar to me:D
I don't know what that would look like on a lighter colored car:shrug: I know DarkFireGT's car is two tone with a shade or 2 different color...looks killer:nice:

Not being a fan of painted hoods, your car looks fine the way it is. But if you were to do it, I would suggest black. The reason is because if you painted in another tone of silver, it will look like mismatched tones of silver.

Yeah, here's a few old pics. It's not exactly what you're looking for, but it shows how a couple shades darker looks.

I just found this and rather like the ghost stripe effect:

Ironically the guy who has them is taking them off as he doesn't like them...

Mine are similar. They look different depending on the lighting, due to the pearl in them. Mine disappear in some lights. I'll put some more pics up tonight.

I like the look. Anyone done anything like that with torch red? Would that even be possible?

Here's some pics with different lighting and angles. Had they not put the pearl in, they'd be even less visible, so it all depends in what you're going for.

I like that combo a lot. Not very ghostly, but looks great.

For a big expanse like a hood, I would go with something darker, not lighter.
