  1. Has anyone ever used Plasti Dip on their wheels? I have been reading reviews about this stuff, so far all positive. Any reviews on here?

  2. IVE USED IT ON THE FENDERS OF MY JEEP, AND IVE SEEN IT DONE TO WHEELS ON A DURANGO AND AUDI, I WOULDNT DO MY WHEELS

  3. my prostars are plasti dipped... and the rear wheels on the turbo car are now also

  4. So it worked good on the prostars? That's what I was planning on doing. Did you just leave the lugnuts chrome? I was worried about tightening up the lug nuts and tearing the plasti dip off. Are you using center caps? If so did you plasti dip them?

  5. Do you have any pictures of the prostars?

  6. the washers and lug nuts are still chrome... and no i dont run center caps.
    i will get pictures tonight

  7. Ok, thanks

  8. there are companies that make black shanked lugnuts

  9. I dipped my 03 Cobras (Vintage Gold) and am in the process of dipping my 93Rs (Anthracite)

Pretty user friendly, but watch the dipyourcar videos on YouTube, they will help you out as far as technique.

  10. Thanks guys, I ordered the wheel kit from dip your car today.. Gonna do all of the emblems on my car also.

  11. I have used plastidip on my Escape on the emblems and grill, as well as on my friends Saab's rims. they came out great actually. I swear by that stuff.

  12. As far as chrome lug nuts go, I paint mine with high temp black paint. After you tighten them up there are very few scratches and you won't really see them unless your looking really close. As little as wheels get taken off it's not that big of a deal to just touch them up when you rotate tires. This saves you spending a bunch on nice black lugs. I did this with my black FX4 twenty inch wheels on my F-150 and works great.

  13. Did you use the header paint or just the 500degree paint?

  14. I use high temp engine paint from Orielly auto parts store. It works great for painting wheels and lug nuts.

  15. It's a great product, but you definitely have to prep the surface a bit and make sure you use enough coats

  16. I use plasti dip A LOT. Prep the surface with just 50/50 water and isopropyl alcohol in a spray bottle. Better to take your rims off the car, that way you don't have to mask the rotors and drum if you have it.

  17. Yes I plan on taking them off.

  18. Good. And also, the first coat is 50% transparency. After that just keep the same rhythm going.

  19. Did you get a chance to get any pics?

  20. Sorry man not yet
