you know when you turn on the ignition and the little amp light with the battery shows up?
well i was driving it to school and every once in a while that light would come on
and the volt meter was in the HIGH red??
the temp was normal.
i have no earthly idea why it would do that?
i hope someone does because i definately do not want it to set itself ablaze again
=o

Sounds like the voltage regulator. That idiot battery light comes on when it reaches 10 amps that triggers the light on. Throw a real voltmeter gauge on the car and then see.

Just remember that the idiot light gets flipped @ 10 Volts. so for the guage to be reading higher somethign is a miss. the only thing that can make the ALT charge higher than its suppose to is the REGULATOR. As a matter of fact-When that happens, And you see the volts go sky high, Blow your horn. If it sounds super high pitched then its over charging. Happened to me once....Ina lincoln. Turned out being a bad external reg.
