Pony kickpanel assembly

Does anyone have any tips and/or photos to help me assemble the pony kickpanels?

Specifically where does the vinyl flap that is attached to the carpet go? It looks like it folds under or around the edges of the kickpanel but in some places that seems difficult. Is there glue or tape involved? Do I have to trim the kickpanel?
