Power Tunes vs Starts

All that I have read says a power tune will significantly increase throttle response. For those of us who have a manual tranny, and do not leave black stripes on the road at every stop, how does this affect "normal" starts? Does it make it easier, harder, or no different in making a smooth slow start from a stop?
I do like the feel of a strong throttle surge start, but that is not my norm in driving.

On the '05 I had with a Steeda tune it didn't effect normal starts at all. What it did was got rid of the built-in throttle lag the car had through out the RPM range, and I picked up about 25 or so more more HP. You can still make the cops are watching me real smooth starts, or take off like you stole it. With the tune you will most likely have to change the air box as well for maximum performance
