powerdyne bd-10 im confused

Just like the title says, I found a bd-10 I might pick up. I have been reading alot about them. Some people say there good, alot of people say they suck. The head unit is supposed to be rebuilt. 2 questions are.

(1) Are the BD-10s ancient units, I know they can be upgraded to the bd11a but as it sits, when did the sstop making them.

(2) I know everyone wants a vortech or paxton etc. but whats wrong with the powerdyne. If a guy is looking for a superchager to run on the streets at 10-12 psi should this suffice?

The BD-10 is pretty old. Powerdyne is a good 6-9 psi supercharger for the price. I ran one for about a year and a half and it worked fine, saw 9 psi with it and didnt break a belt. But if your looking to exceed 10 psi or so its a better idea to go vortech, paxton, procharger. I recently sold my PD and moved on to a S trim. By the way mine was a BD-11A.
