ive had Windows7 RTM installed for about two weeks. its very stable and i love the updated grouping windows feature!

the only annoyance i have with 7 is that on the far right side of the system tray is a button to minimize all windows to view the desktop. If you hover over it, it will display the desktop with all windows transparent. this is a problem for me because when i am browsing the internet and i feel i need to type something, i 'throw' my mouse off to the right hand side of the screen so i can type. this makes the cursor hover over the button and as i am typing the window goes transparent and i cant see what i am typing :(

overall, i like the 'feel' of 7 more than vista, by far. i am running 7 64bit running a quad core q6600 and it performs very well (photoshop, random web browsing)

Are you referring to the taskbar/quicklaunch thing? I absolutely couldn't stand how that was changed. It was enough to get me to reinstall Vista, because I can at least make it behave like previous versions of Windows. My current installations of Vista on both my desktop and laptop have been essentially problem free. I'll be taking a pass on Win7.

Edit: And I disliked how Dreamscene wasn't carried over. I liked the feature of a moving desktop built into the OS, without having to install some third party software, in order to replicate it.

No. Not till October 22 I think. Sometime in October. However, if you have a technet subscription of an msdn subscription, you can get 7 professional RTM.

Whoops, I just saw your other post.

RTM always meant Return To Manufacturer, from my days working in retail :D As in, defective product that was returned to the store

I bought a new laptop on Friday to take to interviews with me and it came with an offer to upgrade to Windows 7 for free. I filled out the request form online and it said that the earliest that the upgrades will ship is 10/22/2009.
