I bought a used bumper for my car that needs to be resprayed to get rid of some nicks and chips and stuff before I put it on. This is my first try at this sort of thing so please bear with me as I blunder along. It is already the same color that it is going to be repainted. What are the steps that I need to go through and the correct tools for the job? Do I need to sand it down to the primer and re-prime it again or just through the clear and enough to scuff the color coat?
