i used prestone radiator cleaner in my 95 mustang engine , it has aluminum radiator, aluminum heads, I was having overheating issues and used the predtone cleaner, The instructions said to leave it in for a few days but I left it in for two weeks , then drained and flyshed with clean water. Now Im having problems worse than before . My question is could this cause blockage or other issues being left in The engine so long. A test now shows I have combustion gas in the coolant , but no other symtoms of head gasket failure , just overheating.

If you have exhaust gas in the coolant then the answer is pretty clear. Overheating is the major cause of a blown gasket and is one of the biggest recurring symptoms.

Overheating and exhaust gas in your coolant is a sign of a bad HG
time for a leakdown test
check your plugs for signs of coolant
check your exhaust for white smoke, dripping coolant, or a sweet smell
