I'm not sure why you state that? You can get a 300hp 5-speed for $25K. The options listed don't make the car faster. They make the car heavier and slower. They add to luxury and comfort only.

IMO, buying a car is much better than leasing. If you lease you have to return the car as stated in the contract and can be charged extra if the miles are over the stated limit. Leasing includes a bunch of extra fees.

Check the link here for how this car takes BMW M3 and Audi S4 and is almost par with Porsche 911 C4S (keep in mind that it was 95F on the test day and everybody else also did a much slower time):

Check the link here to see how this car compares to the giants (including S/C Cobra; notice how this car finished better in the total figure eight test above Ferrari Maranello and Cobra): http://www.motortrend.com/features/scenes/112_0306_spdtest/

On a personal note, the ride will probably be too harsh if you are used to comfy Mustang's ride :D; you'd really appreciate Sir Isaac Newton driving this car.

If you don't care about the factory warranty, it takes roughly $2k to make this car runs 12.7 or better with bolt-on parts, street tires and yet still streetable.

Yet, the best part of this car is not the drag ability; it's the handling and the overall peformance including braking. Insurance is much cheaper, too :nice:

FYI, this is not a Diamond Start Motor product of Normal, IL (who has a horrible quality reputation).

Anyone interested should PM me. This is a Mustang board. Someone will get really unhappy  .

I can appreciate the fact that the Evo is a nice car. It's also apples to oranges to compare it to any Mustang, they're not even remotely the same kind of car, and they don't even begin to target the same market. Yes, this is a Mustang board, so we should probably make at least an attempt at staying on topic. :D

You must be a mitsubishi salesman. Because only sales people are as persistant as you are about one car. And then you want them to pm you if interested. The evo is a capable car. As long as you don't mind a big wing.

I dont mean that I'm upset with the price of the gt, I'm upset with the options prices, which I don't really mind that much about anyway (yea the color gauges would be cool but not 300 sum odd dollars cool).

And I asked about the lease because I'm not going to be able to just buy one with cash, I'll have to finance it some how, wether that means a small bank loan or a lease. Besides if I lease it I will buy it once the lease is up. But I would LOVE to just buy the car straight out of the showroom :p

OK wise guy, I said it could do 13's if it had a strong enough tail wind. :rlaugh:

You guys also have a habbit of throwing around these #'s without including any information on temperature, barametric pressure, humidit & elevation. Yea maybe given perfect conditions you could see 13.9, but if you correct for standard condition NO WAY.

Seems that 99% of the bone stock #'s I see always have a qualification, Bone stock, except for the mufflers, Bone stock except for the N2O, Bone stock except for the 3.73 gears.

I am not a Mitsu salesman. You guys just wont believe how happy I am with this little car. And yes, you can order the car with a low wing, a high wing, or no wing. Let's stay on the topic; Mustang :D

Based on the lates information - the US dealer product card, here
is my updated guestimate for the 2005 Stang pricing and options.

As some have speculated, it looks like some of the option features will be bundled together. Eg. it looks like the multi-color IC, (My Color) is going to be bundled into the Interior Appearance Package. I'm now guessing that the message center will be bundled in to the Premium models & not available on the Deluxe. The dealer card also lists side air bags as an option. It also says that ABS & TC come standard on the GT, which is a good thing with 300 HP on tap.

    $17,995.00 Mustang V6 Deluxe Coupe
    $19,895.00 Mustang V6 Premium Coupe
$24,185.00 Mustang V8 GT Deluxe Coupe
$25,955.00 Mustang V8 GT Premium Coupe

    $895.00 5 Speed Automatic Transmission
    $795.00 ABS & Traction Control (V6 only)
$495.00 Sport Appearance Package (V6 only)
$495.00 Interior Appearance Pkg. includes My Color Instrument Cluster
$895.00 Interior Accent Package (GT only)
$595.00 Leather Bucket Seats (Std on Premium)
$595.00 Shaker Audio System (Std on Premium)
    $1,295.00 Shaker 1000 Audiophile System (N/A Deluxe)
    $395.00 Front Side Airbags
$445.00 16" bright machined wheels with spinners (V6 only)
    $695.00 18" x 9" Brushed Aluminum Wheels & tires (GT)
    $1,045.00 18" x 9" Chrome Aluminum Wheels & tires (GT)
    $695.00 Anti-Theft Package
$0.00 Delete Rear Spoiler (GT only)
    $645.00 Freight Charge

Premiuim Array add to Deluxe Array:
    Leather seats
    Shaker 500 Audio System
    6 Way Power Driver's Seat
Tilt Steering Wheel - manual adjust
    Message Center with trip computer

Note: GT Arrays include ABS & TC

Well, that may be, but I know of quite a few (including mine) that ran 13.9 bone stock. But, yes...the conditions were near perfect.

Well, it is always nice to know your "enemy", too. :nice: A lot of the Evo owners that I notice from the Evo board comes from a demography that won't even consider buying a Mustang. Well, it's less of my concern (read: none of my d*mn business). Heck, I even recall that Sports Compact Car featured the '05 Mustang in their magazine and call it "know your enemy."

I happen to love both since I love muscle cars, but I also love to watch the World Rally Championship (not quite popular here). Ford has a nice Focus RS for this competition purpose.

People keep telling me to get the V-8 for several grand more.

After seeing this post, it only emphasizes my decision on the V-6. Many of those factory options aren't worth a damn.

I'll wait till 2005 to get mine though, by that time, there's sure to be some people who went in for the V-6, only to change their minds and go for the V-8 (too lazy to truely mod it themselves). Get it used for 20% off the original retail price, then spend the extra 10 grand getting after market products, that'll put the V-6 into that special class of cars I like like to call "The Common Sense Cobra"!

Figure when all is said and done, for the same $25 grand someone dished out on a GT, I'll have a modded V-6 easily pushing out around 370-390 ft pds at the wheels!!! Plus have a lower insurance rate, better gas milage, and better 0-whatever times due to its lower weight!

I don't think the point had anything to do with how many people would do it. The point is, that is what he would do.

If he wants to paint it purple with pink polka-dots, that is his business. It does not mean that he thinks everyone else will do it too. :nonono:
