Problems with Max Motorsports Clutch/Firewall adjusters

I just installed a new clutch, along with a maximum motorsports clutch pedal height adjuster, quadrant, and firewall adjuster. I also installed a brand new OEM ford clutch cable. I used the pedal height adjuster to get the pedal height even with the brake pedal. Then with that all set I tried to set the pedal firewall adjuster correctly with the proper slack in the cable but the clutch will not engage at all. When I adjust the firewall adjuster to engage the clutch at the correct point, there is no slack left in the cable which will wear out my clutch. Anyone else have this problem? What should I do?
