Putting the 302 back together. Intsalled an Eldebrock Performer RPM cam (w/ lifters), stock heads, pushrods and 1.7 rr's. Question is that when I installed the rocker on #1, I had to shim it to meet the spec. (I don't have it in front of me, but I believe that it is 1/4 to 3/4 turn to reach 17-20 ft lbs). But when I did the rest of the rockers, no shims were needed. I'm going to take them all back out this afternoon when I get home, just curious as to why this may be (probably an operator error). I was on TDC on #1 and the rest. Of course when I got to #8, those push rods were bent so I have to order a set any way.
