Question about timing cover install

I was told that when installing the bolts that i should put silicone on them because oil passes through them. Is that correct information? Thanks in advance

You should be okay without using the silicone on the bolts but you should use some antiseize on or some kind of thread sealant that will protect the four bolts at the top that coolant passes through to keep the bolts from rusting and seizeing up. Because i broke two of my bolts off before cause someone that worked on it before i got it did not put anything on the bolts to keep them from rusting and seizeing up.So get a thread sealant that will keep the bolts from seizeing plus keep them from leaking. And you should be okay .
