When you put your S197 on the dyno did you have all your exhaust components on or did you leave the headers wide open by taking the exhaust system off?
The reason I ask is because I got to talkin to an old schooler. He used to run his 68 or 69 mustang at the track. He gave me a couple tips. If I took the car out again he said that I should try running without my exhaust system on and the headers wide open (which I will have to check and see if it is ok at my local track) and he said he would fabricate a device for me called a torque sling. It prevents the engine from moving side to side and forces all the power back instead of sideways when mashing the gas. He also asked if I knew what kind of horse power and torque my car puts out and I don't know because I have not been to the dyno yet. But I have seen some numbers in magazines and on here of course and they are around the 270-295 hp range. He insisted with the tips that he gave me and the mods I already have done the car should be close to the mid 300's at wide open throttle. I'm open to trying these as the sling is removable and the exhaust system can be put back on.
