Agreed. Too much $$$.
Didn't Karkraft's used to cost $1k?
Or was that CDC's? Probably CDC's.. So overpriced.
My boss was just talking about this and that he saw a kit on-line. Let me ask him when he gets back in. Meanwhile I can do some net searches too.
What my boss found was a shaker kit for around $700 that fits the 96 and up GT.
The dyno may not be able to show you all the gains of your DIY kit, most likely you'll see more gains at speed with lots of air flowing through the scoop. Just my .02. . .
Kar Krafts was about $675 w/scoop $575 w/o scoop. Was looking a year and a half ago to do it, to steep then, now worse. You didnt gain much till you hit 75, 80 mph much like the Mach.
Engine bay temps aren’t really a problem with our cars. Infact at the track you will get your best times with the engine hot vs cold. The problem with our cars is keeping the temps up.
I don’t have much to add to this post but
The heat shield under the hood is not a heat shield. It is a fire blanket its there so if you have a fire it will fall down and smother the fire.
Yeah, it's pretty neat but waaay out of the $ range for a neat factor mod.
