Question Regarding Paint Oxidation Restore.

  1. I'm restoring my '67 and the paint has some serious oxidation. I'm using some rubbing compound now and it is turning out great. Below is a pic of just one coat of compound on one side of the trunk.
I usually have to do this about every 3 months. Does anyone know if there is a coat of something like maybe wax I can put over the compound to make the new paint look last longer?

I'll eventually spring for a new paint job, but it's not in the cards right now.
  2. I am afraid that paint is dead ,nothing will keep it shinny for long .
