I just got my C&L MAF and trueflow inlet pipe (both C&L), and installed them last Saturday. The install was easy enough, only took about 20 minutes all said and done. Had to buy some of those tamper-resistant torx bits, but no biggy, only $10. Anyway, to my question. Like I said, it installed easy enough, but when it came time to fit the filter on the end of the MAF, the only way it would fit is if I pushed the trueflow inlet tube down in its hose fitting at the throttle body. Basically, the inlet tube looks like it "fell down" a little in the fitting. It's secure enough; I made sure the clamps were tight, and nothing rubs on anything anywhere, but it still doesn't sit right with me. Here's a little diagram of how I think it should look and how it looks now. The lines indicate a frontal (front of engine) view of the top and bottom parts of the inlet tube and throttle body. How it should look: Top: -- Bottom: -- Notice that both the top and bottom edges of the throttle body and inlet tube should touch at the same time. It lines up evenly. How it looks now: Top: - - Bottom: -- See how the bottom part lines up, but the top part is still kinda far away from lining up? If you have any idea of what I'm talking about, or have any install tricks for the C&L stuff, let me know. I think everything should be fine, but it somehow should fit a lot better than that. I can't imagine that having that angle is good for air flow. Also, what is the proper procedure for resetting the ECU so it relearns the fuel curve for the new MAF?
