quick question

ok, I finally got home from college and I noticed my car made a loud ticking noise. I took it to the ford dealer and they said that my lifters were what are making the noise plus i have an exhaust leake because 3 header bolts are missing. Does anyone know where I can get a good set of locking header bolts and what I can do to make the lifters stop ticking?

I know that summit racing sells locking header bolts.

The lifters are bad and you should probably replace them. I don't think that you can "fix" them.

I'd remedy the headers first and see what it sounds like after that. That's gotta be a loud leak.

agreed. if the lefters do end up being bad though, there is nothing that will fix the problem aside from replacing them. because you need to remove the lower intake and valve covers to get at the lifters, now may be a good time to do some other upgrades while you are in there (unless you have already done them).

No doubt.........I lost "one" header bolt and it sounded like $%^& so I can see three being much worse........

Yeah i would too.....soem exhaust leaks came be mistaken for ticks...but if you do have to replace the lifters, you might as well rerplace the heads, cam and intake while your at it......
