Ok, just had a quick question for you guys. I finished a bunch of other projects and i'm going back to working on the stang. When i look at the harmonic balancer i have a middle mark then numbers going in both directions. Standing infront of the car do i make my 14* advance mark to the left of the zero or to the right?
Thanks

Ok just answered my own question, just read that it was to the left....toward the ATDC. I think i had mine set BTDC. And to rotate it against the rotation of the engine to advance. Thanks

You answered your own question....INCORRECTLY.

You want to set your timing, whether it be the stock 10 degrees or whatever you choose, BEFORE TOP DEAD CENTER (BTDC) not After (ATDC).

You don't want your plugs firing after the piston has already come all the way up the cylinder and is on its way back down again, do you?
