Guess it hit just at the perfect angle. :D

I need to look at it again to make sure it didn't bend the shaft or anything. My 3 blade prop is now a 1 blade prop.

truth be told....that is EXACTLY what happened to me my first time with the Corsair.

Had just a dumb moment..power it up and tried to take off...it rolled left, I tried to correct, it went MORE left. Blam, Boom, Bang....

    Broken cowl...that was it.

Do'h.... ailerons were reversed.....and I sat there and STARED at them for 30 seconds before flight making sure they were right....just a brain fart.

    Bummer.

I Should thank you though Doc....I was seriously going to put something on the line with Bill about it....but you crashed already!!!!!

    na-na-na-na :D

I didn't even think to check them. Maked sure everything worked just didn't pay attention to the direction of those. I know better too because I do it every time I bind the controller to my Cub and my mSR or even use my sim because it seems like I always have to switch directions on something.

Oh well, life goes on. I think my LHS has the motor mount because they typically carry T28 parts and its the same one, but they don't stock many Corsair parts so they will probably have to order the cowl.

Oh, and Bill knew I crashed it last night, I txt him that pic. :D

One of the first things I checked were the ailerons but think with my DX6i they were already reversed as I was using that spot for something else..... forget what though?

Well I got the mount! Have to wait till Tues for my LHS to get cowl and another 3 blade.

Might try to fly it without the cowl and the 2 blade though.

    :D

It dont fly well without the cowl. Just tape yours up. Packing tape works great!

And the bird flies better with the 2 blade. I told you tat a couple times. The 2 blade is also mych more durable. :nice:

Oh man. My friend who lives next door bought a Mustang. He was flying it very stable and steady...I have taught him gentle movements.

He got caught my depth perception and a bank of trees that were a good 100 yards away. Thought he had em cleared....NOPE!

    LMAO!

Hit a tree about 50ft up.

We spent two hours in that bank of trees with my 24ft ladder and him climbing it with a chainsaw cutting limbs....He cut about a 15' limb while he was up in the tree....and it came straight down like a bomb straight in front of him about 6" in his face! He said he just held on and hoped for no limbs! I was gonna help break his fall only if he tossed the chain saw!

    Plane finally dropped.

Broke prop, and cowl. A few nicks in it....

    Unbelievable. :D

I think I actually broke the prop by trying to use the power to loosen it up. It just sat in the tree and pushed branches back behind it!

I wish I had taken some pics.....or had a video of that limb falling right in front of my friend. I think he about crapped himself.

Then they kept wanting me to fly mine....after spending two hours getting his, I had no interest in another adventure for the night. Got some time on my Cub though!
