rough idle after smog pump delete

chunked the smog pump today and plugged the lines going to the exhaust and 2 vaccum lines that came off the smog pump filter/canister thing (dont know what its called) now the car idles rough as hell. after it warms up though it idles ok. am i missing something. thanks

whats a good way to find a vac leak.

You can spray starting fluid in the area of the suspected leak. When the starting fluid hits the combustion chambers the idle will increase.

Please correct me if im wrong but isn't the charcoal canister still in use by the fuel system? You have to plug the tube that goes to each head or if you removed it plug the head.

yep, turned out to be a vac leak. hose underneath intake was split in half. starting fluid did the trick. thanks

if it was the hose that exits from under the plenum and heads toward the front of the car, it was probably the charcoal cannister purge hose. Mine took a dumpito on me too (that hose gets vulcanized).
