Saleen side gill(scoop) question

I'm thinking about getting them while having my car fixed. And wondering, is it like big open slit on them? If i do get them, Do i have to worry about water getting inside of my rear 1/4???

they arent functional so the water cant get stuck

there is a rubber piece behind them that block the water.
