For the fourth year, SCOA has been invited to participate in the 22nd Annual Huntington Beach Concours d’Elegance, Sunday June 3rd. The show attracts a lot of rare, high dollar cars, trucks and motorcycles, old and new. It is also the venue for the Porsche Club of America White Gloves Concours. Needless to say, this show is a feast for the eyes and it provides a nice break from the typical Mustang themed show that we typically participate in. The great HB weather and beautiful park setting contributes to the fun day of motorsports appreciation. Here are some things to note about this show. When you fill in the entry form, mark class 37 for ’84 through ’98 cars or 38 for ’99 through ’07 vehicles. We have the ability to modify the classes based on the received entries. For example, if a lot of ’05+ S281s enter, we can revise the class to group the current generation cars in their own class. So, get you applications in early so we have time to revise the classes, if necessary. When entering, you are asked to provide a photo of your vehicle, though this is not mandatory. Unless you mark the box to display your car only, a judging team will look over your Saleen top to bottom, inside and out. This is not a peoples choice car show where winners are chosen based on body color. Your vehicle and all the hard work you have put into customizing and/or detailing it will be reviewed. Participants find this recognition very satisfying. Be advised that both our classes are considered “Street”, since most all of us drive our cars and accumulate resulting wear and tear. Do not be intimidated by the judging as the teams expect our cars to be less pristine than a trailored museum piece.
