I need a truck. I miss having a truck:( I miss being able to hit speed bumps at 20mph. I miss parking anywhere in the parking lot I please.

Anyways, I'm going to sell my car this summer and buy a truck. Ideally, I would like a Tacoma. Preferably 1999-2004 with 4x4 and the 3.4 V6. I've been looking through ads and they're not cheap though. Most of them are at or above 80K miles and still around $12,000-$15,000. Does anyone have any information on these trucks? How long will these engines last? Also, I guess they had a factory supercharged option. How sweet is this:

Any information on the truck is greatly appreciated ( Like which model years to stay away from…stuff like that). Thanks!

If it's a roush then the body mods will hurt you. People unfamiliar w/ mustangs think anything Saleen or Roush is automatically on par w/ cobras. Oh, and trading a 40k car for an older more milage truck + extra money needed is just plain insane. My .02

I agree. You're going to miss the torque and the sound of the V8.

Something personal against Toyotas? I don't need an F-150. I don't need that much truck. I don't need a V8 either. So, I might as well save some money at the pump and get a V6. I heard tacoma's are good trucks. Unless you can prove otherwise? Just trying to be logical here...

Believe me, so do I. Hence, the mustang. I looked into rangers...and I can honestly say that, from what I've read, the tacoma comes out on top.

I hate to say it but the Tacoma is a great truck. That engine will last for years if taken care of. If I remember correctly the s/c engine is the off-road racing version that does not have 4x4 but its been awhile since I read anything on Tacoma's.

My wife has a 99 Solara that had a TRD roots charger like the one you pictured installed in 02 (IIRC). It's a low boost charger, but gives the motor a nice increase and is very reliable. It's still running strong today.

If you really need a truck, you can't go wrong with a Toyota. Properly maintained, they'll last near forever and hold their value quite well.

lol a Tacoma?? WTF. Toyotas are crap, I replaced two engines in Toyotas because of their oil consumption issues. Unless you want the truck for their drivetrain benefit when it comes to off-roading, get different truck.

I think any car properly maintained will last forever. I think you should get what you want, but if it was me I'd be getting an F-150, Ram, or Silverado w/ a V8.

I would never buy foreign, but again, thats just me.

hmmm....someone should alert the millions of people who drive Toyotas then. I mean, they have a right to know they're driving "crap"

How can anyone go from a V8 modified mustang to a V6 truck???? Just so you can go fast over speed bumps and get stuck in the mud? Come on man, you do that much work to the car and then one day decide "oh hey I dont like my mustang anymore....I want a truck" .
    Seriously whats REALLY going on?

It cant be milage...stang gets better milage.

You cant haul much in that small of a truck...and if you needed a truck on occasion you could juts geat a cheap beater truck.

If you want an offroad and speed bump monster, again you would look elsewhere.

I can park anywhere I want...there are no up close "truck only" parking spaces.

    I dont get it

Not being a clown, im serious. Whats the real reason?

haha. I promise, I'm being honest.

It's not that I can't park anywhere I want. It's that I don't trust the people parking next to me.

Before I had this mustang I owned a 2001 cherokee. It wasn't fast...but we had some fun offroading adventures in that thing. It had scratches, dings, and dents. But thats the thing, I didn't care. This mustang is...dare I say it...A little TOO nice.

No, it's not just for the speedbumps:rolleyes: I just wanted a "go anywhere" vehicle. Don't get me wrong, I still love mustangs. Good thing is, my family still owns one...here it is in case you're curious (Doesn't sound too great in this video, but nontheless...)
