I seriously think flower shops must be trying to bilk us poor guys out of our money.

I wanted to send my girlfriend some flowers last week, so I went online to find some.

I sent her three red roses, in a vase, with some ferns and other "decorative" plants.

It was $31.99 for the flowers, $2.25 for "handling," and $10.99 for "shipping/delivery" (WTF does it cost $11 to have flowers delivered in the same town as a damn flower shop?)

The only saving grace on this order was an $8 online coupon. $37.23 to send three roses in a vase. :nonono: Last year when she was in the hospital I took her a dozen roses from the grocery store, in a vase from wal-mart, I think it cost me about $21.

I think I'll do that next time. :nonono:

yeah they nail you pretty hard when you do it online.

The grocery store option is always best :oD Sometimes they have really nice flowers too. Just pay a buddy $10 to deliver them next time :D

dont ever use proflowers. I made that mistake on mothers day, my mom get hers but we had to make other arangements for the in-law, then had to watch the bank statement like a hawk for our refund.

Your best bet is to cruise the local florists until you find one you like.

I've always found a local florist that does constant sales on a dozen roses. Usually between $15-$20 for a dozen roses with filler (whites and greens).

The SECOND you decide to send flowers you might as well bend over and get the vasoline out. A $20 dozen of flowers becomes $99 with fees and a vase.

    It's a racket

Just like almost every company does anymore, they screw you on the extra $10 charge for gas, then it's another $10 for "Express Shipping", and as of back in May when I sent flowers, they now charge you $10 for a vase to put them in. The vase was free before. I think it was about $70 to send them to the midwest. It's a scam, but I only send flowers once a year so no biggie to me.
