setting idle on an 82 5.0

I've been helping my buddy out with his carbed 82 mustang, and I've searched on how to adjust the idle on it, I kinda came out with nothing. So right now, it won't even idle when you let off the gas pedal, it would just die right away, I tried setting the timing with him modulating the pedal.
now there's a solenoid looking thing that the throttle linkage rests on at idle, is that the one I should be adjusting, cuz I tried that and it would run, but when i give it gas, as soon as I let off, It'd die again. a little help here guys, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

that solenoid is for ac voltage its the screw near that, that would be the idle

Every carb I've every worked on had an idle adjustment screw. Look for a screw that pushes against the throttle linkage when it's turned.

is this screw ur talking about on the carb body itself or no? there's non on the carb, only vac ports
