My friend has a 89 GT 5.0 that has no rust but it just crapped out on him. I talked to his dad and he said that either A. the oil pump went out, or B. the oil pick-up valve fell off..... What would it take to fix this thing, it also needs the speedo fixed, the light switch fixed, and a few other things here and there. They don't want to put anymore times or money into it because they already have too many cars....Should I offer $1500 and take it...it also has a spare motor/stand, new light kit, and 2 door handel kits..I broke both doors on my notch so i need to fix that anyway.. Would I have to drain the oil, and drop the oil pan? I don't want to bite and have it come and bite me back because I just bought a 89 notch thats a work in progress...money is tight right now because of that and school. I hate being in debt, I don't want it for money reasons, but then I do want it because it could be a steal...
No... Unless you have no expectaions from the vehicle. I have learned the hard way about selling something to a friend...
No expataions other than fixing it and reselling for like $4K. I just want to know how hard it would be to fix, I think I can do it. IF I can get the car fixed it's worth a LOT more than $1500...
if you plan on keeping it don't do it, i would never buy a car from a friend. if your just fixing then selling, make sure you KNOW you will come out ahead
