I started to sand my intake while it was still on my car and this is going to take forever. I hit it with the circular sander with 60 grit and it barely got that stuff of of it. Would sand blasting it be a good start to polish my intake? Then i would just sand from 120 up?

Oh and here is my supercharger now that I polished it. I heard that i need to get that Mothers alluminum and mag polish to really finish it so i guess ill have to buy some of that tomrow. I really like the painted part with the polished rim, what do you all think?

Dont sand blast it...!!! You'll put some big a$$ pits in there. Use a Die grinder with a scotch brite pad or Aircraft remover.

What he said! DONT EVER sand blast something you want to polish. It will make a lot more work in the end for you (I know) Go down to Discount Auto Parts or Autozone and pick up a can of aircraft remover. Its around $5 and comes in a nice handy spary can, spray it on, scrape it off, repeat where needed.

Just beadblast it, and forget about it. Polishing takes too friggin long :D. It also doesn't make the car go any faster. :p

I disagree... Everytime you sand, it takes off more metal which is un-needed weight. So therefor by sanding your intake and polishing it, you will be losing weight from your car, making a smoother surface for air to flow over and drop about .000000000000142 tenths off of your time :D

Either way it sucks and its work....That E coating Ford puts on is some rugged chit...The aircraft stuff is the best route, it'll still be tough...
Lots and lots of sanding...go to Sears and buy a right angle burr gun...there 80.00 and well worth it...put some disc's on there and have at it...

Thats why i did paint....hi-build primer right over the entire thing...guide coat it, wetsand it and shoot it...Done... :D Send it over and I'll shot that mother...
