Just a thought for those of you not happy with your detector mounting options....
An individual wanting to make a little money might want to look at making custom metal brackets which fit under the sun visor hold down. There's a company out there making these for 'Vette's right now. Simple little metal bracket would work great for mounting a V1 or similar detector... like this:
Makes for a tidy installation up high and out of the way... (and yes I ordered one for the ZO6 the other day...)

I used to have the running pony, but I kinda accidently forgot to use the hood pins and ended up with a Cobra hood and a new windshield.

V1 hardwired and Mounted above the rear view mirror. Custom bracket glued to the very top of the windshield with rear view mirror glue. The dot matrix hides it, still works great.
