looking real nice!
Thanks guys. shame to have to repeat steps but stuff happens and it will be fine. The fun part will be when she goes back together and all the new shiny black trim & new quater windows start going back on, that's when all the hard work starts to really pay off.
Mike I got them from here..Mustang Service Center. He really deals in the older classic mustang stuff has do alot of the places I got some rare stuff from but I always take the chance they may have some later stuff on hand and sometimes I score. I'm willing to pay (within reason) and pull the trigger and grab teh parts when I find them, anyways his name is Bo and a really nice guy although kinda odd( in a nice way). He has alot of old stuff but does dable in late stuff, he basically buys out closing or old stock from Ford dealers. He even had the titanium door panels new in the box for 4yrs and sold them a week before I called. I did score a brand new NOS sun/cargo shade ( pics on previous pages) from another classic mustang source, like I said you never know what some of these guys will have.
paint work finished
she is starting to go back together
I dropped off some parts for them and grabbed these pics. I'll be heading back up next week to check on things and grab some more pics of the progress.
I have never been a fan of white cars, but seeing the way your car is turning out is kind of making me want one. Awesome job!
Yeah I wasn't a huge white car fan myself. my car grew on me and I'm glad I didn't change the color. It looks really good with fresh paint and the new trim is going to really set it off.
I stopped by the shop today and the guys where busy on another job. I had a couple of hours to spare so I decided to do some stuff to the myself and help it along
I started getting some stuff done on the pass. side. I installed the new door jamb weather strip.
next I tackled the lock actuator, and installed the new lock and door handle. The new lock/handle really pop against the fresh white paint
The last thing I time for was the window run weather strip. not too bad of a job. the biggest pia was getting into the lower track but it came out nice.
I'll head back up later this week and tackle some more stuff, that is it for right now.
Dropped of the rest of the trim parts today and I didn't have my camera with me (doh). So all the exterior parts are now at the shop and ready to be installed ie: headlights, cowl trim, quater glass, etc.and my buddy Sid told me the goal is to have it out the door in my hands sometime next week so I can get it home and start putting the interior together. I'll be up again friday to grab some pics and chack on the status.
I'm getting syched!!
more trim installed, new hatch seal, etc.
the plan is to really hit it next week, get the front bumper on and the rear wing, once the headlights, quater glass and couple of little things are set I'm driving her home . we are sooo close.
stopped up to the shop today. going good, the rear is pretty set now.
They where working on the bumper, putting in the headlight bucket, lower brace, and misc. pretty close to popping it on and getting the front fender extensions in but I couldn't stick around.
almost done. just a few more bits, looking like mid next week.
very very nice.
Front end pretty much together
Looks killer man. I like the GT tails on the car. They look really clean in white. I also like the stock headlights. All the attention to detail is great.
Quarter windows and drip rail mouldings are done.
looking good and lots of progress, i bet your going nuts waiting to get it the hell out of that shop and show it off.
yeah it's been tough waiting. It came out really nice the pics don't due it justice. they really took thier time on the body to get it nice but it's hard going by thier schedule and I only can work on it so much myself w/o getting in the way or working on top of something they are doing to it. once it gets to my house I'll work my tail off to get the interior back in but until then I have to live with what they give me for now. there really is only less than a days worth of work left, funny but all the little details can be just has much work has major stuff. no matter the weather here has sucked anways.
It's back home Drove it to the house today, man that felt good after a 1 1/2 years. Time to get the new wheels on, clean the inside and put the interior back in..then off to a nice spot for a photo shoot
Congrats, I look forward to the photo shoot pics!
