Probly the worst thing Ive ever tried to install on my car. I bought the hurst roll control a while back and finally decided to install it while just the shortblock is in the car. What a mistake. First of all, while the rest of the brake system is standard, the solonoid is metric, so you have to use all these retarded adapters.

I dont understand how this is possible to do with the motor in the car. The switch and the light that come with the kit look retarded, the light looks like something off a ferris wheel, and the switch can only be mounted directly on the shifter, and they just assume you have a hurst shifter.

    I hate linelock.

I know a guy who had an older crown vic with a carb'd 351 and he empty'd the rear portion of his master cyl and only ran front brakes (no fluid for the rear) and that thing would do the meanest brake torque and sent tire smoke every where. I don't knof if he did this or just blew a rear line but when my friend bought it off him to make a demo car we seen all this and laughed our asses off.

i just wired my own linelock button on the dash.... i dont need a light... if linelock isn't holding i'll know when the car lurches forward!

its hard to see, but its the square-red-button just behind the steering wheel at 2 o'clock

A lot of 4.6 guys have had great success with the SLP line lock kit. Not sure if they (SLP) have a kit that works well with the 5.0 Mustang or not (have not looked).

I was just thinking about getting line locks. Is this not an easy install on an 89 LX 5.0?

Its an easy install in theory, but it takes a lot of patience.

i installed my linelock and it wont even work right. It wont hold the tires enough to stop the car from rolling while doing a burnout.

    1. pump the brake hard a few times, hold the brake hard
    2. press and hold linelock button
    3. release brake
    4. if you find yourself moving forward when using LL, pump the brake again (while the button is pressed)
    5. proceed to smoke the tires
    6. release button and launch a 1.6 60'

Tried that doesn't work my vac is to low for it 8-10 when i hit the brakes go to the floor when i go to re-apply the brakes again they dont stiffen up and goes to the floor i can do it 20 times and it wont hold. it has 12 volts so im pretty sure its a bad solenoid.

Did your pedal always do that? Like you press the brake all the way down and it slowly keeps going until it hits the floor? If so your master cylinder is bad.

master cylinder is fine i have awsome brakes in the car just at an idle i only get 8-10 for vac because of my cam and because the cars have vacum assisted brakes it doesn't like to make brake pressure.
