hey I could really use some help... I decided I wanted to put an aftermarket head unit in my mustang... I have a mach 460 system... wellllll heres where I **** up hah.. I took the tape player and cd player single din head units out and removed the center dash piece... I then took the wire hardness I bought that has one grey piece and one black piece and clipped the grey piece in.. could not find where the other one went... the one with all the speaker wires... I noticed an amp I think inside the dash I reached in and was able to unclip a clip on the back that fit perfectly into the other slot on my harness.. perfect I connected my new head unit annnnd... nothing happened.... any idea why?... I checked all the wires I had connected to each other color to color still nothing.... so I removed it and clipped my mach head unit the tape player/radio back up and ..... nothing :( no power no lights just nothing... am I doing something wrong here? any help would be awesome. ahhh so sad

Might stand a better chance of getting help if you mentioned:
  1. the model year of your Mustang
  2. The part number of the adapter harness that you used
  3. A link to the adapter harness that you used.
Otherwise the only advice you are going to get is, "did you check the fuses?".

Thanks for the reply ... I have a 2000 mustang GT ... and I just used a wire harnmess I bought from walmart for 94+ ford performance stereos .. figured that's what I needed for the mach 460 ... however. im frustrated and just want my original stereo to work again hah I connected all the cables back to the two head units the tape player/radio and the cd player and not even the lights come on... no power at all... do you know what fuses I need to check.. I don't have the owners manual.. could I be doing something wrong... and if its a fuse do you think that's why the aftermarket head unit didn't turn on either?
