So what's the skinny on O-ringed blocks and heads?

I bought a used A4 block that is already grooved for o-rings, do I need to have my heads grooved for o-rings as well to make it worth while? Also, do I have to get special gaskets, if so where can I get them and what kind should I get. Any info would be great!

Yes and yes. To make use of the o-ring you need matching heads and felpro makes a o-ring gasket...not sure the number. Or so I have always been told.
