So which seems to be the preferred blower - Whipple or Kenne Bell?

Which would you buy and why?

I'm interested in both of these kits and was just wanting to see what the general consensus was on the best or most popular out of the two.

I'm reasonably well aware of the technology behind them and have already ruled out any form of turbocharger, centrifugal supercharger or roots based supercharger for reasons I'll not delve into in this thread.

The interest lies in spending about $6000 which will buy a complete intercooler kit from either company.

Initially will be looking at running on a stock internal motor but would like the ability to up the game at some point in the future.

Thanks for your help and opinions :nice:

I don't know so much about S197's, but on Sn95's, Kenne Bell was definitely preferred. Output was a lot better with a KB. I would assume it's probably pretty similar with the S197's.

Did some quick research. It seems for the same price, they put out about the same - around 450RWHP, however, the KB is capable of up to 850HP+, while the Whipple is 600HP+

Well speaking from experience, I bought the Kenne Bell. I went with them based on their reputation and to have the ability to keep turning up the power. Please remember that the Kenne Bell installation manual is about 350 double sided pages. It is alot of work to install as Emay can attest to. It does come with their tune which saves you money (They include a XCAL1). Right now I am running their 8 lb pulley and the 100 octane race tune and the car screams. I did have a few problems loading their tune due to the fact that my car had been relashed by Ford without my knowledge or them relabling my PCM thus providing Kenne Bell with the wrong calibration code. That said, after everything was said and done, I love the car and would definitely do it all again! The guys at Kenne Bell...Ken, James and Mike, never gave up on my problem and provided me with great support. They even gave me their cell phone numbers! Some pics of the install...
