I've made a topic about this before a long time ago. I've heard it will sound good, and i've heard it will sound like ass. So will it be worth the money? Will it make the exhaust tone deeper? or give a it ricer sound? I dont want to get one and have people laugh at my stang
obviously it will be deeper, but as a flow master, exspect a little drone. Also even with a muffler, its still gonna sound like a 4 banger....hopefully a deeper 4 banger, but a 4 banger none the less.
Are you putting this on a car with stock everything else on the exhaust? (stock manifold, stock cats, etc) If so, yes, go for it, you'll love it. It sounds really good under 3000 RPM, above that it sounds like a four cylinder (obviously). The first exhaust I had on my '90 2.3L LX was a single cat back with a 2 1/4" 40-series, and I had a big 18" long, 3.5" slash cut chrome tip on the end that I honestly think really improved the sound. But you can do whatever you want with it.
I have a ranger header, no cat , 2" exhaust, and a flowmaster 50 series, and it sounds great. It idles really deep, and still sounds good in the higher rpms. I would recommend a 50 series over a 40 because I thunk the 50 sounds deeper.
my old 89 with dual spintech's and a longtube header, and of course tons of other mods. http://mail.j0o.com:8000/media/ka0tyk.mp3
Do you hear that? Do you hear that? What? That sound, that throaty Flowmaster sound. I love the sound of Flowmasters on a Mustang...sounds like...victory.
It sounds best on stock motor but modding it just makes it throatier, not really like honda fartcannon noise. Open up the exhaust and people will know you're coming. I never really could place a good description of the sound my car makes until I started getting teased about it. "You better fix your exhaust, we thought the cement truck was coming back!" "Sounds like ya got a semi there! Rawwwr rawwwr rawwwr! You got a Jake Brake on that thing?" And then I had to agree. It sounds like a pissed off dump truck.
