needs a little cleaning and pretty much needs an engine...replacing it with another 3.0L or maby a 5.0L H.O. I have like a year and a bit to have it on the road before school for my apprenticeship so I may do a 302 swap but we will see what happens. And I might get the father to help me repaint it black again

looks like a great truck for being free. Im actually looking at trading my car for a ranger on air bags. If you were closer to me id pick that thing up off you.

what!!! from a stang to a ranger..no dont so it...you will hate it...my dad gose from daily driving his stang in the summer to driving the ranger and he gets all pissy about it...keep the stang!!!

so when I did a compression test at work cyl's 3 and 6 had no compression and tonight I was looking for something to kill a few minutes time so...

so tonight I was borred so I went to my parents house (where the truck is in the shop)and I took the passenger side valve cover off and seen that #3 cyl exhaust rocker was loose. then I seen the push rod sitting down in the hole so I pulled it out with a magnet (with the rocker still in place) and it was bent probly at a 135 deg angle...then I got loking a little closer and the valve spring is compressed almost all the way so I assume the valve is bent. I didn't pull the other cover off cause it looked like a pain and I was in a hurry. I would think the same thing is going on with cyl #6 cause they both had no compression. now what may have caused this I was leaning towards the timing jumped?. Are they belt or chain. I think i am going to pull the heads off and see what I can do to fix it...or maby buy another 3.0L and maby re gasket it and freshin it up a little.

are the heads off say a 3.0 taurus or any ford/merc FWD 3.0 car the same heads. any help or sugustions are welcome.

I might pull the driverside cover off and see what went wrong there probly the same thing I immagine. But here is cyl #3 exhaust valve pushrod...my new drinking straw :rlaugh:
